Dr. Martin Kovac, PhD

About

Dr. Martin Kovac is a senior energy systems researcher with over 20 years of experience in building energy performance, smart metering technologies, and residential energy optimization. He holds a PhD in Energy Engineering from the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava and completed postdoctoral research at ETH Zurich focused on smart grid integration and demand-side management. His research has been published in Energy and Buildings, Applied Energy, and the International Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems. Dr. Kovac has led energy audits for over 500 residential and commercial buildings across Central Europe, identifying an average of EUR 800 in annual savings per household. He served as a technical advisor to the Slovak Ministry of Economy on the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan and contributed to EU Directive 2018/844 on building energy performance. His current work focuses on AI-powered meter reading systems and predictive consumption analytics for EnergyVision.
